Once every blue moon I actually prime and sit down to do my makeup, and this video is me fully leaning into that for Halloween. I’m testing a “wearable” Corpse Bride vibe (because I was not trying to buy face paint at first… and then, plot twist, I did). I start with foundation and a beauty blender I’ve used like twice, then I try to talk myself through going gray-blue vs neon blue—aka changing the plan mid-look because sometimes you have to, and that’s okay. I also attempt contour for basically the first time, try to reshape my nose, and figure out brows that don’t make me look unhinged. After a taco break (face intact, thank you), I get brave with eyeliner and even fake lashes—shaking, sweating, crying, throwing up… period. Then it turns into a mini Halloween prep vlog: I open packages, commit to being the Corpse Bride for real, and show the veil/flower pieces I’m DIY-ing darker with eyeshadow. On actual Halloween I’m gluing down my eyebrows for the first time (gross, scary), going full blue face, and starting the eye look—the part I’m most nervous about. If you’re a beginner like me, this is your sign that messy experimenting can still turn into a really fun costume.
