Ragnarok just dropped on ARK Survival Ascended, so I had the bright idea to hop straight into official Small Tribes PvP… solo. Yeah, six-mans everywhere, and I’m out here trying to make it work anyway because that’s the fun part, bro. Day one is basically me speedrunning the “solo wipe day” struggle: I start in Highlands, grab carrots for a donkey, tame a PT, and instantly get reminded ASA loves trolling—dinos phasing through walls, random aggro, and me nearly getting my monitor punched when I’m out of stam in a fight. The whole goal was simple: find a rat hole, get a griffin, and start setting up like a real solo. Problem is, both rat holes I wanted were already taken—one with foundation spam and turrets, and the other had a literal samurai sword dude guarding it. So I pivot: loot drops, camp drops for tranq arrows, upgrade to flak, and eventually bag a griffin with colors that go hard. From there I’m farming drops, leveling, snagging a cracked 236 pump, crafting a cryofridge + generator (because ASA cryos are pain), and making 5 C4 to potentially reclaim that first rat hole. By the end, I’ve got a griffin, a pyroman shoulder pet, good gear, and zero real base—classic solo ASA experience. I even get clipped later by a wyvern while I’m out of stamina, which pretty much sums up Small Tribes. Still, for what it’s worth, I had a pretty good time.
