Tuesday morning wipe on the highest pop server, I woke up and had the dumbest (and best) idea: “monkay, you should build on an island.” So I didn’t just build on an island… I built the entire island. I claimed a Lost Island island with a hidden cave, started the wipe with a note run to 100 for heavies, then bounced maps like a rat with a plan—Gen 2 for a Maywing, Center for tames, Aberration for polymer and surface-drop profit, and Gen 1 lunar for electronics. Of course my forges got smoked early, people tried foundation-spamming my island, and I had to blow their spam just to place defenses. From there it was pure solo wipe-day basebuilding and PvP survival: heavy turrets, a Theri bodyguard, island-wide foundation spam so nobody can FOB me, and constant fights at drops and transfers. I got clapped once (because I forgot cryo sickness like an idiot) and then paid it back with C4 traps, loot yoinks, and straight profit—pumps, fabbies, kits, even a tech suit moment. Once I farmed tributes and finally got the boss arena, I pulled 850 element, hit tek tier, dropped a replicator/transmitter, swapped in tek turrets, and turned the island into a real problem. The takeaway: on high pop, your base lives or dies by spam control, turret uptime/ammo, and being willing to transfer out and fight for every upgrade.
