In this build I take the Paragon FX Blade Runner 2049 “Deckard’s blaster” water pistol and turn it into something that actually looks like it belongs in the movie. I start with a quick review of what you get out of the box and lay out the plan—what I’m going to repaint, what I’m going to mod, and how I’m going to tackle the parts that scream “toy” right away. From there it’s all prep work: cleaning, sanding, and getting the surfaces ready so the paint job doesn’t fight me later. The fun part is adding lighting—specifically LED lighting for the cartridge—so it has that extra bit of life when it’s finished. Then I move into the main repaint and detailing, followed by weathering to knock down the fresh paint and give it that used, gritty Blade Runner feel. I wrap it up with a handful of additional mods and small details that really sell the illusion, and then I show the complete blaster at the end.
