In this first part of my 1/12 scale Halcyon Aliens Power Loader build, I start off with a quick review of the kit so you know what you’re getting before you even touch glue or paint. I go over the overall quality and what to expect, then I jump straight into the arms—assembly first, then paint—so the build starts taking shape right away instead of staying a pile of parts on the bench. From there I move into the actuators, because on a Power Loader those mechanical bits are a huge part of the look. I take my time getting them together cleanly and painted so they read like real hardware. Finally, I wrap this episode up by moving onto the legs, continuing that same workflow: build it solid, then paint it so it looks like it belongs in the Aliens universe. If you’re building this kit too, the big takeaway is to break it into subassemblies (arms, actuators, legs) and finish each section as you go—way easier to keep things tidy and consistent.
