In this video I’m basically calling myself out: my startup website looks ugly right now, and I needed to be honest about it. I’ve been a software engineer for around five years, so I’m confident when it comes to code, logic, features, and shipping. But UI/UX, visual flow, and making something feel “human” visually? That’s still a skill I’m actively learning, and it shows the deeper I go into building the product. I talk about how easy it is, as a solo founder, to over-index on the engine—backend, architecture, edge cases, “real” functionality—while the design slowly falls behind. The result is a site that feels cluttered, inconsistent, and kind of messy. But the main takeaway is the mindset shift: coding and design are two separate crafts, and you don’t have to be great at everything to build something great. My goal is to keep iterating, keep shipping, and improve one small piece at a time—because that’s how the product (and my skills) actually level up.
