In this vlog I talk through why so many of us (me included) want to escape the 9-to-5, especially as developers who know we can build things ourselves. It’s not just “freedom” as a vague idea—it's wanting ownership, wanting to choose what I work on, and wanting the upside to match the effort. I share how that mindset pushed me into the solo founder path: shipping in public, learning fast, and accepting that the tradeoff is uncertainty, not some magical stress-free life. I also give an update on what I’m building: auto-ranked, my YouTube optimization tool. The whole point of this channel is to document the real process—coding, marketing, getting users, and dealing with roadblocks without pretending it’s easy. Along the way I touch on YouTube growth from the perspective of a builder: looking at data, testing what works (titles, positioning, consistency), and iterating like it’s a product.
