About This Video

In this vlog I walk you through a pretty real “solo founder day” where I’m constantly switching between two modes: shipping code and doing marketing. I’m building auto-ranked.com (a YouTube optimization tool), and the whole day is basically me trying to stay productive while deciding what actually moves the needle—another coding session or another round of distribution and content. The main takeaway is that growing as a software founder (and as a YouTuber) isn’t a pure engineering problem. Coding feels clean: you write features, fix bugs, make things faster. Marketing is messy: you’re testing ideas, trying to get users, and dealing with uncertainty. In this video I show how I think about that tradeoff, why I still force myself to do the marketing work even when I’d rather just code, and how I try to make decisions based on data instead of vibes. If you’re building in public or trying to get your first users, this is the exact balancing act you’ll run into.
