About This Video

In this video I’m taking you with me to Lindisfarne (Holy Island) in winter, and if you’ve never done it before, it’s such a special little day out. We’re doing the proper Holy Island classics—seeing Lindisfarne Castle, having a wander around the Priory, and just soaking up that wild, windy Northumberland coast feeling that you only really get in the colder months. I also talk you through the low tide crossing, because that’s the bit people get nervous about (quite rightly). It’s absolutely doable, but you do need to be tide-table sensible and plan it like a grown-up, not like a last-minute dash. I’m wrapped up for the weather too—thermal polo neck, my green knitted hat, and my navy fleece—because winter on the coast is no joke. If you fancy a calm, scenic UK hidden gem with a bit of history and a proper outdoorsy walk, this is a lovely one to pop on your list.
