In this video I’m doing a true first impression and all-day wear test of the Maybelline Lifter Plump & Glow Foundation on my dry, 56-year-old mature skin. We finally got it in Canada, and I’ve been dying to try it because it’s been going viral—and because it claims a 90% skincare base with 2% niacinamide and hyaluronic acid. I test it two ways (because that’s how I like to do my foundation reviews): one side with my Milani Bright Skin Illuminating Primer applied with a sponge, and the other side with no primer applied with a brush, so we can really see how it performs with and without “assistance.” Right away I noticed it’s a thicker formula, blends easily, and gives a beautiful radiant, luminous finish without feeling heavy. The shade 118 was spot-on for me and, thankfully, it did not oxidize. I also appreciated that it has no fragrance, and it’s one of the few foundations I know of that doesn’t contain alcohol, which I think is great for mature skin. After 12 hours of wear, it still looked good on my cheeks and forehead, with a few wear points around my nose and chin. Surprisingly, I saw a bit more settling on the primer side than the non-primer side, so I’ll keep playing with different primers. Overall, if you want sheer-to-medium buildable coverage with radiance and hydration for normal-to-dry mature skin, I think this one is absolutely worth trying—especially on sale.
