Well, hello! In this video I’m doing a full get-ready-with-me using inexpensive drugstore makeup (and keeping it easy) so you can see how I go from “looking like this” to “this” without spending a fortune. I start with a few prep steps I really love for mature skin: NYX Face Freezie reusable eye patches to de-puff and hydrate, a plumping E.L.F. lip oil to get my lips ready, and the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind pink corrector right where I’m darkest (inner corner) to brighten things up. Then I go in with the E.L.F. Power Grip Primer (the pink one with niacinamide) because I truly think primer is a great idea on mature skin—especially around the mouth and forehead where makeup can settle. For the eyes, I keep it super affordable with E.L.F. Bite-Size palettes and a couple of Essence minis, and I’m not afraid of a little shimmer on mature lids—I think it looks pretty and brightens the eye. I show you how I soften liner (and do a tiny baby wing), plus why tightlining makes my thin lashes look fuller. For the base, I use my underrated favorite travel foundation: CoverGirl Clean Invisible Foundation—light to medium, hydrating, never heavy, and it doesn’t settle into my fine lines. I finish with creamy Milani bronzer and blush (my dry-skin besties), a touch of pressed powder only where needed, and my current favorite lip combo for a hydrated, glossy nude.
