In this video I’m testing and chatting through some of Allure’s award-winning beauty picks for 2025—specifically the products I actually reach for and whether I agree they deserve the hype on mature skin (over 50). I filmed this after a long workday (about 14 hours of wear on my face!), so you’re seeing real-life longevity, not a fresh “first hour” check-in. I also tried to include a drugstore option whenever there was a higher-end pick, because I know so many of you love affordable makeup as much as I do. I start with a couple of “steals” that are genuinely great for dry, mature skin—like a super gentle cleanser and a body lotion that sinks in without feeling greasy. Then we get into the makeup: a drugstore foundation that surprised me (yes, even with the word “matte” in it), and my beloved Haus Labs foundation that gives that healthy, luminous look without settling into lines. I also share two standout blushes (one higher-end, one drugstore), a creamy eyeliner that doesn’t tug on crepey lids, and a few of my favorite lip oils/treatments for a smooth, hydrated finish. And finally, I throw in a bonus hair product that’s a total game changer for flyaways—especially those wiry gray hairs that like to do their own thing.
