About This Video

In this video I’m doing a quick review on OLENS Rain Mocha, which is basically the mocha/brown version of the Rain Black that launched around the end of last year. I go straight into close-ups and talk about how it looks on my eyes (I have naturally very dark, almost black eyes), plus what you can realistically expect from the pattern and the “raindrop highlight” effect in real life. Rain Mocha has a 13.5mm diameter, which is usually a bit bigger than what I tend to wear. With Rain Black, I felt like the diameter didn’t look too enlarging on me, but with Rain Mocha the darker brown mocha tone makes the lens feel a touch more “lush,” so I notice the enlargement more. The design is pretty, though: a soft outer limbal ring, and inside you get a brown gradient that looks like three tones in the lens itself—light golden brown stripiness on top, a deeper mocha towards the bottom, and a soft brown rim. On my dark eyes, the full three-tone effect isn’t super obvious from a distance (I think it’ll show way more on lighter eyes), and the highlight is there but not as obvious as Rain Black. Overall, Rain Mocha leans natural rather than “make your eyes pop,” and if I had to pick one, I personally still prefer Rain Black.
