In this video I’m unboxing my new 16-inch MacBook Pro M2 Max and talking through why I finally upgraded from my 2019 16-inch MacBook Pro (i7, 16GB, 1TB) to a much more capable machine (M2 Max, 32GB, 1TB). Over the last year I moved my workflow from HD to 4K, and I was basically living on proxies just to keep editing manageable. Even then, my old MacBook was struggling, so I wanted something that could save me time and keep my editing flow smooth. My experience so far has been great—especially in Premiere Pro, which is the main software I use for all my videos. The biggest win is how much faster my workflow feels and how much exporting times dropped, which means more time for other projects. That said, I’m also honest about the limits I’m seeing: stacking multiple 4K clips and using heavy plugins like RSMB can still be demanding, and I think part of that is Premiere itself (I’ve seen creators doing similar stuff in FCPX with fewer dropped frames).
