Every corner of my home office has a purpose, and in this build I finally gave coffee a dedicated one. I took a simple corner and turned it into a calm, functional, and clean coffee bar by wall-mounting an IKEA BESTA cabinet, keeping the back open so I could actually reach the only outlet on that wall, and drilling a grommet hole to route everything neatly. I also flipped the panel that’s meant to be the bottom and used it as the top surface, because I knew I’d cover it with a countertop—and those screw holes ended up being useful later. To finish the station, I added the BESTA top panel, ran cables through M8 desk grommets that fit perfectly into the existing holes, and used adhesive silicone bumpers to stop the panel from sliding. Because an espresso machine is heavy, I added extra supports underneath to prevent the top from bending over time. Then I built a DIY softbox inspired by one of my favorite creators, using wood slats, diffusion fabric, aluminum tape, and a Philips Hue LED strip—mounted with my own 3D printed brackets that slide onto the cabinet’s M8 screws without damaging anything. Finally, I cleaned up the last visible cable with leftover wood wall panels, kept a SKÅDIS pegboard for accessories, and tested the Meraki Espresso Machine as the centerpiece of the whole setup.
