Since December 2023 I’ve been working on a full living room redesign, and in this video I guide you through the entire process—from the empty “before” to the final cozy setup. I didn’t start with a perfect plan, but I did have clear goals: add a shared desk setup corner for my family, create a relaxing movie area, and carve out a dedicated spot for my growing plant hobby. After taking measurements, I built a 3D model in Blender, tested different layouts, and then locked everything in with a mood board so the light wood + white aesthetic would feel unified and bright. From there it was all about execution: fresh white paint, IKEA staples (rug, BESTA cabinets, HEMNES library, and a KARLBY countertop desk), better lighting with the Philips Hue ecosystem, and finally the details that make the space feel premium. Grovemade accessories were my go-to for the desk and walls because they match the vibe perfectly, but I also talk honestly about what wasn’t worth it—like the chair I picked purely for aesthetics, and a terrible wood panel purchase experience. The end result is a living room that feels alive, cozy at night, and super functional during the day—with a desk setup corner I’m genuinely proud of.
