I've gotten way too many questions about this, and way to many requests for a video going over my cymbal collection, so I figured it was time to set the record straight and show you my (massive) collection of cymbals and what went into my decision to get what I'm playing nowadays. 00:00 Introduction 02:46 My Jazz Cymbals 07:41 My Seifried Cymbals 10:45 Other Cymbals w/ Stories 15:36 K Constantinoples 19:51 Avedis Cymbals 24:26 K Sweet Cymbals 26:51 Studio Crashes 29:11 More Crashes 30:42 K Custom Special Dry 31:59 K Custom Dark Ride 32:44 K Light Ride Use this link to shop at Sweetwater, and support my channel by doing so: http://sweetwater.sjv.io/5g0gxn Don't forget to subscribe to my channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/malonedrum?sub_confirmation=1 _____________________________________________________________ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/malonedrum/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/malonedrum Website: https://www.malonedrum.com Email: malonedrum@gmail.com ___________________________________________________________ If you want to support my work and leave a tip on Venmo (@MikeMaloneDrum) or PayPal (malonedrum@gmail.com), I’ll happily share my PDF transcription with you! About This Video

In this video I finally answer the question I’ve been getting hammered with: why I walked away from my cymbal endorsement, and what I’m actually playing now. Instead of doing the vague “it just wasn’t a fit” thing, I lay out the real-world reasons a working drummer ends up changing directions—what I needed out of cymbals for gigs, recording, and my own taste—and I show you the actual cymbals that got me there. I also do a full walk-through of my (pretty ridiculous) cymbal collection and the stories behind it. I break it up by the roles these cymbals play for me: my jazz cymbals, my Seifried cymbals, and then a bunch of “other” pieces with specific backstories. From there I get into the Zildjian side—K Constantinoples, Avedis, K Sweets, studio crashes, and a handful of specific K Custom models (Special Dry, Dark Ride, and Light Ride). The big takeaway is that I’m not chasing logos—I’m chasing sounds that work in the room and on the mic, and I’m showing you how I think about building a cymbal setup that actually earns its keep.
