The only update besides the name is the switch from ground cinnamon to cinnamon syrup. It didn't change the cinnamon-ness at all IMO but it does mean less solids in the batch that don't mix well. Last year I made two eggnogs: a lower ABV eggnog to match the ABV of the Jeffrey Morgenthaler version (even though mine is slightly higher) and a 11% ABV version which I shared here: https://youtu.be/HAL2j4RNqh8 The aged version I am trying today is the lower proof version at 7.5%, matching the new. I personally like a lower proof ABV eggnog and it's better for a party (IMO) but the higher proof version is for those that want something stronger and might be worried about food safety and aging. Below is a 12% ABV eggnog which is only different from last year's video by a slight bump to the OFTD to land on 12% After tasting the aged vs unaged side by side, there is no clear winner. They're definitely different, and I think it just depends on what you like and are going for. Freshier and creamier vs slightly funky and custardy. _recipes at the bottom of the description_ *_Some links below are affiliate links that may lead to a commission paid to the channel_* πΎ *Crew Bottles with removable base:* Save 20% on your first order with the link below: https://crewsupplyco.refr.cc/Crew-Affiliate/u/makeanddrinkvideos?s=sp&t=cp *Full Amazon Store:* https://www.amazon.com/shop/makeanddrink π *Best Citrus Hand Juicer:* https://amzn.to/4bU1tjY π *My Big Juicer of Choice:* https://amzn.to/4k5xkSE π§ *Nugget Ice and Tools:* https://amzn.to/3yH3zFe πΊ *Cocktail Garnish Game:* https://amzn.to/3UQ8v26 π· *Glassware:* https://amzn.to/4bOK2SA π *Cocktail Books:* https://amzn.to/3WwwR19 β¨ *From the MakeAndDrink Shop* β¨ Find Mai Tai glasses, enamel pins, tasting glasses, and some of my own personal glassware for sale at the MaD Shop: https://make-and-drink-shop.fourthwall.com βοΈ *Favorite Slushie Machines* βοΈ *Ninja SLUSHi Max* Amazon: https://amzn.to/42OhZzU Walmart: https://walmrt.us/48CcEyE *Ninja SLUSHi* Amazon: https://amzn.to/3VbzhTI Walmart:* https://walmrt.us/4ro7VYM *HiCozy:* https://amzn.to/4pM8VFq *Ecoviva:* https://amzn.to/4nzAPmP βοΈ *Margarita Man Mixes:* https://margaritaman.com/?ref=qcqzwaia Use Code *MakeAndDrink* for 15% off _Order in increments of 6 to get free shipping_ π¬ *Tools I use to make Videos* *A Camera:* https://amzn.to/4eyoXwq *B Camera:* https://amzn.to/3YbkU3B *Microphone:* https://amzn.to/3XQ70m2 *Lights:* https://amzn.to/3XYE4Z2 *Music:* https://epidemicsound.com/referral/0p0ysi πΆ MaD Playlist: https://www.epidemicsound.com/playlist/jc578rte2ii0xcl5aaq5vn8tz7l6fv81/ π *Episode Chapters* π 00:00 MaD Nog 3.0 01:55 The Ingredients 03:24 Making the Make and Drink Holiday Nog 05:49 Drinking the Make and Drink Holiday Nog π *Recipe(s)* π *Make and Drink Holiday Eggnog 3.0* 6 whole eggs 5 oz rum (40% ABV) (150 ml) 4 oz Amontillado sherry (120 ml) 1 oz allspice dram (30 ml) 200 grams of sugar (200 g) 18 oz whole milk (540 ml) 12 oz heavy cream (360 ml) 2 oz OFTD Rum (60 ml) 1 oz cinnamon syrup (30 ml) 2 tsp vanilla extract (10 ml) 2 tsp vanilla paste (10 ml) 2 tsp fresh ground nutmeg *12% ABV Nog* 6 whole eggs 5 oz rum (40% ABV) (150 ml) 4 oz Amontillado sherry (120 ml) 1 oz allspice dram (30 ml) 200 grams sugar (200 g) 18 oz whole milk (540 ml) 12 oz heavy cream (360 ml) 6.5 oz OFTD rum (69% ABV) (195 ml) 1 oz cinnamon syrup (30 ml) 2 tsp vanilla extract (10 ml) 2 tsp vanilla paste (10 ml) 2 tsp fresh ground nutmeg *BONUS* *12x12 MaD Nog* _12% ABV Appleton 12 Eggnog_ 6 whole eggs 16 oz Appleton 12 rum (480 ml) 5 oz Amontillado sherry (150 ml) 200 grams sugar (200 g) 18 oz whole milk (540 ml) 12 oz heavy cream (360 ml) 2 tsp vanilla extract (10 ml) 2 tsp vanilla paste (10 ml) 2 tsp fresh ground nutmeg
