This season has been so full-on with moving, juggling projects at our new house, and just trying to keep life afloat… but I really wanted to pause and prioritize something that actually matters. So I made the drive to my number one cozy coastal Maine town, with zero plan other than “get there and surprise him.” Before I headed to the library, I had to make a quick pit stop at the new house because we’re in the middle of having the popcorn ceilings removed. The crew came in and covered everything—our new floors and all—so it felt like one of those small renovation wins that makes the chaos feel a little more manageable. Then it was a full-on parking scramble (10:24 for a 10:30 start kind of stress), until I found a spot right in front of the library—like it was meant to be. The best part was getting to watch my dad do his thing, surprise him in person, and remind myself that in the middle of big life transitions, showing up for your people is always worth it.
