Today is moving day… part one (and honestly it might turn into a 2A and 2B situation). In this vlog I’m starting the morning with Starbucks for the crew, then my brother Gabe and I tackle the first big push: loading up a 10-foot U-Haul with boxes, storage stuff, and as much “light” (not actually light) apartment chaos as we can. Jack stays back with Annie because I’m always nervous about his back—last summer was brutal—so we imported Gabe from Boston and tried to keep the vibes high. I also share the very real mental side of moving: my anxiety has been through the roof with all the what-ifs, timeline hiccups, and the fact that we can’t pay rent and a mortgage at the same time. The biggest wildcard is our floor project—there are days we literally can’t walk on the first floor, so we’re moving everything into the basement through the bulkhead like little basement goblins. The good news: I caught a peek and the first floor and stairs are officially stained (it’s warm and brown and everything), and we’re in the home stretch with poly coats. Popcorn ceiling updates are still a little up-in-the-air, but either way we’re getting out of the apartment this weekend—U-Haul extension plan ready if we need it.
