After Weeks Living in My Car… I Finally Made It to New Orleans

After weeks of living in my car through freezing temperatures, constant wind, and bad weather, I finally made it to New Orleans, Louisiana. The difference was almost hard to believe. After driving through days of winter conditions and barely leaving the car, the warmer air felt like a reset. I stayed at a quiet state park outside the city to regroup, clean up the car, and try to recover from the exhaustion that comes with long-term winter car living. Not everything went as planned though. The shower situation didn’t quite work out, and after weeks on the road, even small things can feel bigger than they should. Still, getting outside, cooking again, and walking through the French Quarter and along the Mississippi River reminded me why I started this road trip in the first place.
