Today I got out of my own house and headed to my friend Annie’s place to help her figure out where to even start with a “boring gray” bedroom. She’s on a budget, she’s not sure her furniture is working, and she needed help narrowing down a direction—so we walked the room, talked through what she actually likes, and identified the real pain points. The room has great natural light (thankfully the LVP leans more white than gray), but the ceiling light is genuinely horrendous, and the lighting situation overall is not it. She also wants two matching nightstands with bigger surfaces and closed storage, plus more clothing storage beyond her current dresser/closet situation. After that, I took you along to thrift stores and estate sales in her area to get a feel for pricing and what’s realistically available secondhand. Spoiler: a lot of it was… boring.
