Then I head back into my forever-evolving breakfast nook and finish off my coffee bar in a super renter-friendly way—by rescuing a huge IKEA butcher block piece from the neighborhood and having Dalton cut it down in his insanely organized garage workshop. It instantly makes the area feel warmer and more complete, and I’m still debating whether I stain it darker (I try to steer clear of matchy-matchiness, so tell me what you’d do).
