About This Video

In this breezeway makeover part two, I’m doing what I always end up doing after a big project: living with it for a bit, noticing the little functional gaps, and then making small edits that make the space feel way more finished. I loved how my covered patio/breezeway turned out as a renter-friendly outdoor kitchen and garden workspace, but day-to-day I realized I needed better storage, better organization, and a few layout tweaks to make everything easier to use. I built a custom “stick holding box” for all my bamboo garden stakes using inexpensive pre-cut pressure treated lumber, and I painted it to match my pegboard and drawers so it feels cohesive. Then I upgraded my potting table by adding casters (reused from an old garden cart) so I can actually access the storage behind it without wrestling the whole table. I also elevated my pegboard setup with simple binder rings (so much easier for gloves), added clean adhesive labels to my IKEA drawers, and finally gave my seed collection a real home using craft cases with individual compartments. To finish it off, I sprinkled in a few thrifted pieces for function and styling, and refreshed my IKEA stools with stain + weatherproofing so they can keep doing double duty outside.
