In this video I’m showing you how I re-size the Lori Holt Chicken Salad applique birds in Brother Canvas, and honestly it’s one of those “why didn’t I do this sooner?” things. If you’ve ever opened up an applique design and then realised your embroidery hoop is just too small, this is the fix. I walk you through how I take those sweet little birds and scale them down so they’ll actually fit the hoop I’ve got available—no drama, no complicated steps. The big takeaway is that resizing in Brother Canvas is very easy, and once you know the method you can apply it to pretty much anything: applique shapes, embroidery motifs, or any design you need smaller (or bigger). Of course, if you make the design smaller you’ll end up with smaller birds, but that’s the whole point when you’re working within hoop limits. If you’re getting stuck because your hoop size is holding you back, this is a simple way to keep sewing and keep stitching without having to change your whole project.
