In this first video on my Christmas Starry Night tile embroidery, I’m sharing what it’s really like to stitch out a high quality design like this — and why you absolutely need to plan ahead. It’s a gorgeous design and I genuinely don’t think you’ll be disappointed, but I want you to go into it with your eyes open: it will take a lot longer than you think once you factor in all the stops and starts and the constant thread changing. This stitch-out completely took over my day and didn’t leave much time for anything else, which is exactly why I always say you must start these kinds of Christmas projects months before Christmas. If you’re thinking of doing this tile (or anything similar), my biggest takeaway is to treat it like a proper project timeline, not a quick evening make. Set yourself up with the right tools, give yourself plenty of time, and you’ll enjoy it so much more instead of feeling rushed.
