About This Video

In this video I do a bit of a “real talk” session: I go on Reddit and read the language-learning problems that people keep repeating, and then I react as a CELTA teacher who’s also learning languages herself. I’m not here for miracle methods—I’m trying to find the sweet spot between doing too little (so nothing changes) and doing too much (so you burn out). We talk about the intermediate plateau, why vocabulary feels endless, and why so many learners get stuck doing the same comfortable routines without actually moving forward. I also get practical about tools and time. I share my thoughts on flashcards (including Anki), what they’re good for, and what they can’t do if you’re not meeting words in context. Then I go into the “I have no time” problem and how I personally think about fitting language into real life—especially if you’re juggling work, study, or low energy days. Finally, I touch on memorising vocabulary and what to do when ADHD or attention issues make consistency hard, including the idea of time blocking and building routines that are realistic, not perfect.
