Come and grab a cup of tea, because this one is a proper cozy studio chat about my October in art. I’m sharing the highlights from Calmtober — the drawing challenge I created back in autumn 2022 and have been hosting ever since. In this video I flip through all 16 illustrations from this year and talk you through my thought process: how I build a composition, how I choose a colour palette, and how I keep the whole set feeling connected while still letting each prompt have its own little story. After Calmtober, I also show the other pieces I’ve been painting alongside it — some artwork for an upcoming Calmtober zine, some “curious foxes” art reward work for Patreon, and a few Christmas postcards (because it always sneaks up on me). To finish, I share a bit of my non-painting creativity too: the dress I’ve just finished sewing (I got to test-sew the Akleja Dress pattern) and a couple of cushion covers.
