Let’s do a gentle little sketching session together and start 2026 without pressure. In this video I share five different pigeon photos (all from Unsplash, so they’re royalty-free) and you can sketch along with me in your own sketchbook. I wanted this to feel cozy and doable—something you can put on, make a cup of tea, and just draw in-between all the “new year planning” energy. Usually I begin January by reflecting on the past year and trying to map out the next one, but this time I’m intentionally taking my time. Instead of needing everything figured out right away, I’m letting sketching be the bridge—something calm and grounding that still moves me forward. I also talk about the idea of a more podcast-style video, so it’s a bit more like a quiet studio chat while we draw. If you’re craving a simple subject to practice gesture, shapes, and soft observation, pigeons are honestly perfect.
