In this video I’m kicking off the Fat Quarter Shop 2025 Designer Mystery Block of the Month with Block 1. I walk you through getting started, what I’m watching for as I open up the first set of instructions, and how I like to set myself up for success before I ever start stitching—because mystery projects are so much more fun when your cutting and organization are on point. I also share how I’m approaching this as a real-life quilter (and nurse/mom) who wants the process to be enjoyable, not stressful. You’ll see how I think about accuracy from the very beginning—choosing tools that help me stay consistent, pressing well, and keeping my pieces tidy so the block comes together the way it’s supposed to.
