To each their own, but for me, that’s way past the point of being reasonable, especially when you consider what you can get in the $20K–$25K range if you’re patient and shop smart. I’m also playing my Les Paul Custom and breaking down why I’ve heavily modified it—pots/caps, pickups, and especially swapping the Nashville bridge (which I can’t stand) to an ABR-1. That bridge change is everything to me; it made a huge difference in the tone and feel. I also get into ebony vs rosewood boards, why ebony helps keep top end together in drop tunings, and why neck pickup tones can “sing” better on a Custom.
