In this video, I’m giving you an update on my Prada America’s Cup sneakers after about a year and a half (basically two years of real wear). Overall, they’re holding up pretty well, and they’re still my favorite all-black shoes because they look clean and work with so many outfits. I wear them to work and I walk around a lot, so yeah—they’re getting beat up, but the shoe itself has been solid. But there’s one thing you need to know if you have these or you’re thinking about buying them: don’t do what I did with the laces. My laces literally changed color and turned brown, and it just doesn’t look good or presentable. The reason was super unexpected—I used to store the shoes close to a window in my old apartment, and the sunlight hit them over time. I had to find out the hard way, so my warning is simple: don’t leave them sitting in the sun—keep them in a closet or somewhere shaded. I ended up grabbing replacement black laces from Amazon (not the real Prada laces), but they look good and they do the job.
