About This Video

I’m moving into a new place, so I wanted to film an empty 1-bedroom downtown Toronto apartment/condo tour before I bring in all my furniture and stuff. I walk you through everything from the entrance (mirror storage and the standard washer/dryer closet) to the kitchen setup with the electric stove, fridge, and the island—because honestly, not every Toronto apartment comes with an island like this. I also keep it real about the condition of the unit: it’s a bit dirty, some parts stink, and there are a few things that are broken or worn down that I didn’t fully notice during the viewing. I show the bathroom (basic, needs a proper clean), then the living room where I’m already planning my minimal setup—mirror, plant, light, my Lack shelf, TV placement, and couch layout. I’m debating a rug because there are scratches and gaps in the flooring, and I talk about how painting in Toronto rentals usually isn’t happening unless rent is going up. Then I take you into the bedroom with huge windows, where I’ll set up my bed and a small editing table, plus a surprisingly big walk-in closet for a 1-bedroom. Finally, I show the balcony and the view—CN Tower and Toronto skyline—which is honestly the highlight. If you’re trying to rent in Toronto or moving to Canada for the first time, I tell you to ask me questions because I’ve moved twice in Toronto within the last year and I’ve learned a lot the hard way.
