About This Video

I recently transferred from the University of Michigan to Columbia University, and this vlog is basically me closing one chapter and sprinting into a completely new one. I fly into Detroit, grab a car, and do the emotional “last lap” around Ann Arbor—seeing friends, picking up the rest of my stuff, and taking one last look at places like State Street and North Campus where all my classes used to be. The whole time, I’m processing how weird it feels to leave the school I genuinely thought would be my alma mater, and how uncertain everything gets the moment you commit to a new path. After the Michigan goodbyes, we drive to New York and I move into my Columbia dorm. Move-in day is a lot—overwhelming, overstimulating, and honestly sweaty because the AC wasn’t installed like they promised, so it’s humid as hell. I show the before-and-after of my room setup, push through orientation, and end up rearranging everything at 4 a.m. to split the space better for my future roommate. The big takeaway: new cities and new schools are exciting, but it’s also totally normal to feel overloaded while you’re building your next routine from scratch.
