In this video, I’m reacting to a clip from Cody Askins and giving my honest thoughts on a piece of sales advice that I strongly disagree with. First, I want to be clear: this isn’t personal. I’ve met Cody a couple of times, and he’s always been respectful and nice to me. I think Cody Askins is one of the best promoters in the insurance industry, a great collaborator, and an amazing public speaker. But some of the advice I see out there is just wack, and this is one of those examples. The reason this clip bothered me so much is because I believe treating prospects like a target, instead of treating them like a person, is bad sales advice. Especially when we’re talking about seniors, final expense, life insurance, and people making important financial decisions. In this video, I talk about why ignoring someone’s concerns and bulldozing your way through a sale is not the right approach. It may help you make a quick sale, but it can also create unhappy clients, canceled policies, chargebacks, and a bad reputation for the insurance industry.
