Why Good Websites Still Don’t Convert

Many websites I see have all the right pieces, but just don't convert. Here's an example (and what I did to fix it): I just reviewed a coaching website with - a clear niche - good branding - a solid offer But there was too much going on. The menu was overcrowded, and it was a bit too text-heavy. My eye didn't know where to land first. Plus the hero image showed a woman facing away, looking at a brick wall. If I'm stressed and looking for help, I want to see someone confident and approachable looking toward me. So here's what we changed: - Tightened the message and simplified the layout - Updated the headline to name the aspirational outcome Also, the subheadline here is really important. The last phrase—"a life that feels as good as it looks"—is specific to this audience. High achievers often look successful on the outside but struggle internally. So when they read that, they think, "She gets it. This is for me." Which is exactly what a good subheadline does: Shows that you understand their specific situation.
