Have you ever spent more time wrestling with screen recording software than actually recording? I’ve been there. In this course, I build a full-stack screen recording + video sharing platform (a Loom-style clone) where you can literally hit record, capture your screen (desktop or browser), upload instantly, and share a single link—no clunky dashboards, no extra steps. We go step-by-step through setting up a modern Next.js app (App Router + TypeScript), building a clean UI with Tailwind, and structuring routes with layouts and route groups so auth screens and the “main app” feel like two separate experiences. From there, I wire up real product-grade features: Google authentication with Better Auth, a video gallery with search + filters, upload and privacy toggles (public/private), video detail pages with share links, and AI-powered transcripts. For hosting and processing, I use Bunny—because it doesn’t just store videos, it also encodes and generates organized, timestamped captions automatically. And to keep the app secure without overengineering, I add Arcjet for rate limiting and bot protection in just a few lines. The end result is a polished, portfolio-worthy full-stack project you can ship and actually be proud of.
