About This Video

If you already know React, you’re about 75% of the way to being a mobile app developer—and in this course I prove it by taking you from an empty folder to a published, monetized full-stack mobile app. React Native today isn’t what it was two years ago. It’s much closer to the modern web stack: file-based routing, API routes, and even server-component-style thinking. The gap between web and mobile has basically closed, and with the new architecture (JSI replacing the old bridge), performance is no longer the “React Native is sluggish” debate from years ago. We build Recurrly, a subscription management app that tracks your recurring charges, with a real backend using Node.js, Express, and MongoDB. You’ll implement real features: authentication, active/inactive subscription tracking, scheduled email reminders, and a custom tab navigation that actually feels native. Then we do what most tutorials skip: we ship. I walk you through Expo + EAS so you can build in the cloud, submit to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, and understand the workflow you’ll reuse to ship any app. On top of that, I set you up with a production-ready toolchain that real companies use—Clerk for auth and billing, PostHog for analytics and experimentation, and CodeRabbit for AI code reviews—so you’re not stuck at “it works on my machine.”
