In this video I’m taking you inside Tiny Planet Group’s factory to show how these $220K–$400K+ expedition Sprinter builds actually get made. I walk through their full production line with Dennis (the owner) and Matt (their customer success/product guy), and we break it down stage-by-stage—because there’s so much behind the walls that people just don’t see. Their whole system runs on a tight schedule: every 8 days the van moves to the next stage, and they’re building cabinets, electrical, plumbing, and heating assemblies in parallel so it all drops in clean when the van hits the install phase. We get into the nerdy stuff I care about: layered insulation (barrier coat + Thinsulate/foam), heated floors with marked “no-screw zones,” and a shower setup that’s actually thought through—flat pan, four drains, full waterproofing, and even heated floors under the shower pan so it dries fast. I also dig into serviceability (easy access panels, fuse access, removable drawers), their Victron-based electrical approach, and how they cram up to 15kW of lithium into a ridiculously small compartment.
