About This Video

Hey, it’s Sam here. In this video I’m checking out the Royal Kludge C68, RK’s first 65% hall effect magnetic keyboard, and it’s priced around $65. I unbox the US layout (mine only comes in this muted teal colorway), go over the 68-key compact layout, and talk through the basics like the centered USB-C port, ~6° typing angle, and the lightweight mostly-plastic build at about 580g. I also cover the stock keycaps (MDA profile doubleshot PBT with front-printed functions) and the overall sound signature—which is pretty clacky. Then I do a full teardown and show what’s actually inside: a tray-mounted steel plate, plate-mounted stabilizers with no rattle (plus extra dampening on the spacebar), and a 2-pin hot-swap north-facing hall effect PCB with per-key RGB. I point out the factory sound dampening too—EVA foam between the plate and PCB, and foam + silicone in the bottom case to make the board sound fuller. Finally, I go through the Royal Kludge web driver and the gaming-focused features: adjustable actuation from 0.01 to 3.5mm, rapid trigger, dead zones, polling rate options, calibration, remapping, macros, and extras like SOCD. After testing in-game, I think the C68 is a pretty decent budget hall effect gaming keyboard that ticks all the boxes for the price.
