About This Video

Hey, it’s Sam here. In this video I take a full look at the Royal Kludge F99 (RK F99), a 96% wireless mechanical keyboard with a retro design and a clean sound signature, priced around $75. I unbox everything you get (Type-C to C cable with a Type-A adapter, puller, extra switches, and even a hard plastic dust cover), then go over the layout and design details like the exploded 96% arrangement, indicator lights, adjustable feet, and the tri-mode toggle with a magnetic receiver slot. I also do a teardown and show what’s actually inside: mostly plastic case (just over 1 kg), tray-mounted steel plate with zero flex, a 5-pin hot-swap south-facing PCB with per-key RGB, and pre-lubed RK linear cream switches. You’ll see the sound-dampening “sandwich” (PET sheet, IXPE switch pad, and a poron plate foam), plus the 5,000 mAh battery and bottom case foam. I wrap it up with software coverage (web driver + app), a typing sound test, and my final thoughts: if you want a plain and simple wireless 96% with a numpad that’s great for work and gaming—and doesn’t rely on gimmicks like knobs or screens—the F99 is a solid choice.
