Hey, it’s Sam here. In this video I’m checking out the Akko MOD007 V5 HE (the white version), a 75% Hall effect / magnetic switch gaming keyboard that sits around the $150 mark. You’re getting a CNC aluminium case that’s seriously hefty (about 1.8kg), plus a ball catch system that makes opening it up way easier than the usual screw-fest. I go through the design details like the 75% exploded layout, the rotary knob + LCD screen combo (yes, you can upload GIFs), and the more angular, aggressive case styling with that mirror PVD weight on the bottom. I also do a full teardown and talk components: Cherry profile double-shot PBT keycaps, Akko Astrolink magnetic switches (pre-lubed, 0.1–3.0mm actuation range), plate-mounted stabilizers that came pre-lubed with no rattle, and a gasket-mounted aluminium plate that’s surprisingly stable. On the PCB side, it’s a south-facing Hall effect PCB with per-key RGB, and there are multiple layers of sound dampening that help it land on a pretty clacky sound profile in the typing test. For gaming, I cover the web-based Akko Cloud driver and the Hall effect features—rapid trigger down to 0.005mm, 8000Hz polling, and a 32K scan rate. Basically, it’s fast, precise, and super customizable for FPS and other fast-paced games, which is why I call it one of the best premium Hall effect options right now.
