In this video I’m taking you along the full journey of developing a new collection of ceramic glazes—starting at the very beginning with base glaze development and then moving into color research. Glaze work is where the art and the science really meet for me: I’m chasing a feeling and a palette, but I’m also testing, adjusting, and trying to understand what’s actually happening in the kiln. This collection didn’t come together in a day—it took weeks of patience, notes, and endless trials. I share the step-by-step way I approach glaze research: building a reliable base, running tests, and then slowly pushing color and surface until it feels right for the collection. The biggest takeaway is that glaze development is a long game—if you want depth, consistency, and a finish that truly supports the forms, you have to give it time.
