In this video I’m starting a brand new ceramic collection (episode 1), and I’m walking you through how I begin shaping the ideas before anything feels “finished.” I’m designing a set of pieces and sharing the glaze research I’ve been doing alongside it—basically the messy, exciting early stage where I’m testing, comparing, and trying to figure out what kind of surface and mood I want the collection to have. This is very much a studio diary: I’m thinking out loud about direction, making decisions as I go, and using research (and lots of glaze tests) to get closer to the feeling I want.
