Ike Okwerekwu, a pharmacist, opens up about his journey through chronic neck pain caused by years of poor posture while working from home. After self-diagnosing and trying countless temporary fixes—from medications and massages to acupuncture, steroid injections, and PRP therapy—he finally discovered the root cause: military neck, a condition caused by the loss of the neck’s natural curve due to tech overuse and poor ergonomics. His breakthrough came with a simple cervical traction device that helped restore his neck’s alignment and significantly reduce pain. Now nearly fully recovered, Ike also undergoes prolotherapy to prevent future issues. Through his suffering, he found deeper faith, gratitude, and a renewed appreciation for health. In this storytime episode, Ike reflects on how pain reshaped his perspective—and hopes to inform and encourage anyone silently battling chronic conditions.
