I also talk about how buying certain hardware (like an interface) can include an extended trial, which can be a smarter value than paying months of subscription. If you’re coming from another DAW, the crossgrade can knock the price down (around $149 when I recorded this), and if you already own Studio One Artist or Professional, the upgrade path is the cheapest deal I’ve seen—about $99, and it’s the route I personally took. Finally, I give my perpetual-license reality check: you don’t “own” the software—you own a license, and OS updates can eventually break compatibility.
