About This Video

No matter how hard I try, I’m always getting distracted—doomscrolling instead of scripting, reading, or filming. In this video, I show the E‑Ink productivity system I landed on after a year of testing, and why “sucky, laggy, and boring” is exactly the point. E‑Ink uses electricity to pull charged particles to form text and images, and because it’s not blasting you with flashy LED colors, it’s way less engaging in the best way. I walk through three devices I use as daily drivers in my home office: the Bigme Hibreak Pro E‑Ink smartphone, the BOOX Note Max, and the BOOX Go 10.3. The Hibreak Pro replaced my old phone and gave me about 2 hours of productivity back per day—my screen time dropped from ~3 hours to ~1 hour because social apps get boring fast in grayscale (and yes, I still keep the important work apps like Teams and Notion). Then I show my “digital paper” workflow on the Note Max: reading + journaling with a paper-like feel, and then flipping into a laptop-style setup with the keyboard folio for scripting and shot lists. Finally, the Go 10.3 is my ultra-light travel option for longer reading sessions. To choose the right E‑Ink device, I keep it simple: (1) read, write, or both, (2) black-and-white or color, and (3) do you need a front light for low-light use.
