About This Video

Hi friends—this video is my February soft TBR, aka the pile of books I’m using to (hopefully) claw my way out of a reading slump. After Bookmas I fully hit a wall and had to step back for my mental health—burnout was burning out, I was trying different meds, and I’m getting back into therapy. I’m finally feeling like I can create again, so I built a TBR with multiple “game plans” because I’m trying to set myself up for success instead of forcing one mood. First, I’m leaning hard on what usually works in a slump: fast-paced mystery thrillers. I’m talking Book of the Month picks like Sunk in Love (because second-chance romance has me in a chokehold) and It’s Not Her, plus thrillers like Famous Last Words (the “my husband is the gunman” premise???), and No Exit vibes with that online-review-stalker setup. Then I added books I already started and loved—because sometimes the easiest way back into reading is returning to something that already had you hooked (Thorn Season, Fearless, and Ready or Not). To round it out, I’m trying a few more literary-leaning, emotional reads (The Bright Years, The Wedding People, Anxious People) and my Patreon book club pick, The Second Death of Locke, because I want a story that can actually move me. Basically: thrill me, comfort me, or wreck me—in the coziest way possible.
