In Bookmas Day 9, I took you with me for some last-minute Christmas shopping for the kids (cozy vlog style, obviously). We hit up TJ Maxx (twice, because the toy section is always a gamble) and then did a Walmart run, and I shared my biggest “shopping with kids” hack: if they beg for something in-store, I just take a picture and save it in a folder on my phone. When birthdays/holidays roll around, I’m not guessing—I’m literally shopping from receipts my kids accidentally made for me. We also did a Taco Bell lunch break Q+A (bookish and not), where I answered questions about balancing motherhood and YouTube (spoiler: Marky is the reason I can function), whether we’re having more kids (no), my ambient lights, and my “impossible” favorite books. I also talked about how my brain visualizes books like a movie, my comfort rewatches (Harry Potter forever), and even my Spotify Wrapped. Then I wrapped it all up with a big Christmas haul: shared gifts like Magnetiles/magnetic cubes, sensory stuff like kinetic sand, and a very Cody-coded pile of cute plushy things. Plus, yes—I grabbed a couple books for me at Sam’s Club because the prices were good, and I’m trying to prep for a book-buying ban next year.
