About This Video

I’m Gr8fully Tedicated, and in this holiday episode I’m doing what makes the most sense for this season of life (and this season of weather): staying closer to home. It’s about four or five weeks before Christmas as I’m filming, so I decided to sprinkle in some Christmas-related videos—starting with a visit to a local Christmas bazaar at the Deschutes County Fairgrounds in central Oregon. Val is with me, and we walk in ready to see what the local artists are creating. What I love about bazaars is you can’t get this kind of creative, handmade variety from a big corporation or a quick online scroll. In this video I take you booth-to-booth—soaps, fun little gift ideas, and all kinds of patterns and colors—plus those cozy ā€œare you in the Christmas mood yet?ā€ moments that make small-town holiday events feel special. My big takeaway: even if you’re not in central Oregon, find a bazaar near you and support local makers. It’s good for the community, and you’ll usually walk out with something more personal than a generic gift card.
